Although the wristwatch first got popularized in 1904 by Brazilian aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont, who ordered a wristwatch from Louis Cartier. Not a pilot watch as we know it, yet it was intended for use on his flights in Paris.
Here a comment on the dimensions of the watch. The diameter confirmed at 42mm like the gen: Gen height is: 10,78mm without crystal. Around 11mm with crystal. The height w/crystal, which is 0,25mm thicker than the stock crystal the watch comes with: Without the crystal the height is 11,76mm. The watch is therefore 1mm thicker over all than the gen. The gen. The 5205G-013 has a gradient sunburst blue-black dial, giving the watch a vibrant look and was therefore called the young man’s Patek by Monochrome Watches. It has a concave bezel and skeletonized shaped lugs. The case in white gold is beautifully curved. The diameter is 40mm and the height is 11.36mm. It’s a plain looking stainless steel sports watch with somewhat of a retro appearance. In photographs it's quite unremarkable and even ugly. The dial reminds me of 1980s VHS cover art. I originally bought it as I loved the Patek Philippe dress watches but the BP Nautilus was the best available Patek rep at the time.
